The fragrance opens with grapefruit, bergamot, lemon, and black pepper, giving it an immediate flash of tart citrus and dry heat. Pearberry and freesia soften the edges just enough to keep it wearable, while juniper and clary sage add a cool, aromatic weirdness underneath. Then the coffee arrives, dark and roasted, with rosewood, musk, and a trace of patchouli lingering in the background.
It is citrusy without being cheerful, floral without being delicate, and coffee-rich without becoming gourmand. The effect is alert, dry, slightly off-kilter, and unexpectedly polished.
